The short answer
Wolf Repair Experts repairs gas, electric and induction cooktops in Los Angeles homes, with a focus on Wolf and service for Viking and Thermador models. We diagnose the actual failed part, such as an igniter, valve, element or control board, and explain your options before any work begins.
When a burner clicks but won't light, an induction zone flashes an error code, or one element on a glass top barely warms a pan, dinner plans in a busy Los Angeles household fall apart quickly. Wolf Repair Experts repairs high-end gas, electric and induction cooktops throughout the city of Los Angeles. Wolf cooktops and rangetops are our main focus, and we also work on Viking and Thermador cooking surfaces. Many of these kitchens also have Sub-Zero refrigeration, so if your refrigerator or freezer needs attention too, we can look at it during the same visit. We are an independent repair company. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these brands.
Cooktop problems we fix in Los Angeles kitchens
Most cooktop calls come down to a handful of symptoms. The cause behind a symptom can vary a lot from one model to another, so we test the burner, element or circuit rather than guessing and swapping parts. Common problems we handle include:
- Gas burners that click constantly, won't spark, or won't stay lit
- Weak, yellow or uneven flames on one or more burners
- Igniters that keep sparking after the burner lights
- Radiant elements that stay cold or heat only on high
- Induction zones that won't detect cookware or show error codes
- Touch controls or knobs that don't respond
- Cracked glass or ceramic surfaces that need replacement

How we diagnose gas, electric and induction cooktops
Gas cooktops and rangetops usually fail in the ignition system. A burner that won't light may have a cracked igniter, a wet or dirty spark module, a worn switch at the knob, or a burner cap that isn't seated correctly. We check each part in order and inspect the gas valve and connections for safe operation before we leave.
Electric radiant cooktops depend on elements, limiters and infinite switches. When one zone stops heating, we measure resistance and voltage to find out whether the element, the switch or the wiring has failed. Doing it this way keeps you from paying for parts you didn't need.
Induction cooktops are closer to electronics than traditional appliances. Error codes, cooling fan faults and power board failures are common, and they often show up after a power surge or a long run on high heat. We read the fault, test the boards and sensors, and tell you plainly which component is at fault and what replacing it involves.

What to check before you call
A few quick checks can rule out simple causes. They also give us useful information when you schedule:
- If you smell gas, turn off the burners, don't use switches or flames, leave the home and call your gas utility first
- Make sure burner caps and grates are dry and sitting flat after cleaning
- Check the circuit breaker for electric and induction models
- Note any error code shown on the display, word for word
- Find the model and serial number label, usually under the cooktop or on the burner box
Repair or replace?
Premium cooktops are built to be serviced, and most failures involve a single replaceable part. Swapping an igniter, element, switch or control board is usually far less disruptive than replacing a cooktop that has been cut into custom stone counters.
Replacement can make more sense when the glass surface and the main electronics have both failed, or when key parts are no longer available for an older model. If that's the situation, we tell you directly so you can decide with all the facts in front of you.
