The short answer
Wolf Repair Experts repairs Wolf, Viking, and Thermador ranges in Malibu homes, including gas, dual-fuel, and induction models. We drive in from Woodland Hills, diagnose the problem on site, and explain the repair before any work begins.
In many Malibu kitchens the range does most of the work: a Wolf dual-fuel with its red knobs, a Viking gas range, or a Thermador with star-shaped burners. When one of these stops lighting, heats unevenly, or shows an error code, you need someone who knows how these ranges are built. Wolf Repair Experts is an independent repair company based in Woodland Hills, about 13 miles northeast of Malibu. We diagnose and repair premium ranges in homes throughout the city. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer. We find what failed, explain it in plain terms, and tell you honestly whether a repair makes sense.
Range Problems We Fix in Malibu Homes
Most range calls start with a symptom you can see or hear. Telling us exactly what is happening, and when, helps us arrive with the right questions and often the right parts. These are the problems we see most often on professional-style ranges:
- A burner that clicks but won't light, or lights and then goes out
- Igniters that keep clicking after the flame is lit
- Weak, yellow, or uneven burner flames
- An oven that runs hot, runs cold, or takes far too long to preheat
- Bake or broil not working on a dual-fuel or electric oven
- A convection fan that is noisy or won't run
- Error codes, unresponsive controls, or a dark display
- Doors that won't seal, or hinges that have sagged
- Induction zones that won't detect a pan or keep shutting off

How Coastal Living Affects Your Range
Malibu sits right on the coast, and Los Angeles has a Mediterranean climate. Areas near the ocean stay milder than the inland valleys, but they also get more moist, salty air. Over time that air can corrode igniter contacts, burner caps, and electrical connections. The result is slow or failed ignition that comes and goes. A spark module can also act up when moisture works its way in, which often happens after a burner has been wiped down with a wet cloth.
The fall Santa Ana winds swing the other way, bringing hot, dry spells and fine dust that can settle in burner ports and vents. Regular cleaning helps. If a burner still won't light reliably after the parts are fully dry, a component has usually worn out. We check the whole ignition path so we replace only the part that actually failed.
What We Check on Gas, Dual-Fuel, and Induction Ranges
Each brand does things a little differently. Wolf dual-fuel ranges combine sealed gas burners with an electric convection oven. Thermador star burners and Viking sealed burners each have their own ignition setups and burner designs. We match our diagnosis to your model instead of guessing.
On a typical visit we test igniters and spark modules, check gas flow and burner orifices, measure oven temperature against the setpoint, and test bake and broil elements, temperature sensors, and the convection fan motor. We also look over door gaskets and hinges, and read any stored error codes from the control board. On induction models we check the cooking zones, the cooling fans, and the electronics that power them.
Many Malibu kitchens pair the range with a Sub-Zero refrigerator, and we service Sub-Zero refrigeration as well. If both appliances need attention, mention it when you schedule so we can plan for it.
Tell us what your appliance is doing.
What to Expect When We Come Out
When you contact us, have the range's model and serial number ready if you can find them. They are usually on a tag behind the kick panel, along the oven door frame, or under a burner grate. Describe the symptom in as much detail as you can. Does it happen on one burner or all of them? Only at high heat? Only after the oven has been on a while?
At the appointment, the technician confirms the problem, tests the likely parts, and explains what is wrong and what fixing it involves. You decide before any repair starts. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you so and schedule the return visit once it arrives. If a repair doesn't make sense for an older or heavily worn range, we will say so plainly.
Serving Malibu and Nearby Communities
From our base in Woodland Hills we serve Malibu and the surrounding parts of Los Angeles County and the Conejo Valley, including Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, and Thousand Oaks. If your home is in one of these areas and your Wolf, Viking, or Thermador range isn't cooking the way it should, reach out and describe the problem. We'll tell you how we can help.
