The short answer
Wolf Repair Experts repairs Wolf, Viking and Thermador ranges in Agoura Hills, including igniter, burner, oven temperature, convection and control problems. A technician diagnoses the range in your kitchen and explains the repair options before any work starts. We are an independent service company and are not affiliated with any appliance brand.
When a range stops working, the whole kitchen slows down. Maybe a burner keeps clicking and never lights, the oven runs cold during a holiday roast, or the display shows an error code. Wolf Repair Experts repairs premium ranges in Agoura Hills homes, about 9 miles west of our base in Woodland Hills. We work mainly on Wolf, Viking and Thermador gas, dual-fuel and induction ranges. If your kitchen also has a Sub-Zero refrigerator, we can check it on the same visit. Our goal is simple: find the real cause, explain it plainly, and get your range cooking evenly again.
Range problems we see in Agoura Hills kitchens
Many Agoura Hills homes have large professional-style ranges, often 36 or 48 inches wide with a griddle or charbroiler. These ranges are well built, but they have many burners, valves, igniters and sensors. One part can fail while the rest of the range works fine. Most of the calls we get fall into a few patterns:
- Burners that click constantly, spark but won't light, or light only after several tries
- Flames that are yellow, uneven or lifting off the burner, or a low simmer that keeps going out
- Ovens that heat slowly, miss the set temperature, or cook unevenly front to back
- Convection fans that are noisy or have stopped turning
- Infrared broilers, griddles or charbroilers that won't heat
- Error codes, unresponsive touch controls or knobs that feel loose
- Oven doors that don't seal, sag on their hinges or stay locked after self-clean

Gas, dual-fuel and induction ranges need different fixes
A Wolf dual-fuel range combines gas burners with an electric oven. It has different parts than an all-gas Viking or a Thermador induction model. On gas cooktops, burners that won't light often come from clogged burner ports, a cracked igniter, a wet spark module after a spill, or a burner cap that is out of position. Thermador star-shaped burners and Wolf dual-stacked burners each have their own cap and port design. That affects how we clean and reseat them.
Electric and dual-fuel ovens rely on bake and broil elements, a temperature sensor and a control board. When an oven runs hot or cold, we test the sensor and elements before suggesting a new board. Boards are usually the most expensive part, and they are often not the cause. Induction cooktops raise different issues: cookware detection, cooling fans and power electronics. We check those with a meter, not by guessing.
What a range repair visit looks like
The technician starts by asking what you've noticed: when the problem began, whether it comes and goes, and any codes on the display. Then they test the range. That means lighting each burner, checking flame quality, measuring the actual oven temperature against the setting, and inspecting wiring and connections. For gas ranges, we also check for loose fittings near the valves we work on.
Once we know the cause, we explain what failed, what the repair involves and whether the part is likely in stock. You decide before any work begins. Common parts such as igniters, spark modules and oven sensors can often be replaced on the first visit. Model-specific boards or valves may need to be ordered.

A few things to check before you call
Some range problems have simple causes you can rule out first. Make sure the range is plugged in and the breaker hasn't tripped, because gas ranges still need power for their igniters. If one burner clicks without lighting, let it cool and check that the cap sits flat and the ports aren't packed with food. Wet igniters from boil-overs often stop clicking once they dry for a few hours.
If you smell gas, or the oven trips the breaker every time, stop using the range. Don't try to troubleshoot it yourself. Turn off the gas supply if it's safe to do so and call your gas utility first.
